COURAGEOUS IS MY VALENTINE
Courageous is my Valentine
In uniform, so more than fine
The apple of my eye, you see
No better troop could ever be
Though ‘Mona Lisa’ means a lot
She is no match for what I’ve got
And ‘Robin Hood’ who was real cool
Could never match with my love’s rule
No need to wonder who’s the best;
There is but one who’d pass my test
I know my love is tried and true
No better heart there’d be than you
God Bless my precious Valentine
So brave, so smart, my GI’s mine
You’ll always be my Valentine
Do tell me how you make shoes shine

Author’s Note: I was recently asked, by an organization that sends mail to our troops, if I had an uplifting Valentine’s Day poem that they could mail. Well, I didn’t, so I wrote one. I hope you enjoy it, and if you know of someone to send it along to, I hope you will. It has a wee bit of humor to it.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
Roger
