MISSING YOU

The skies of spring begin to warm,
But we don’t watch them arm in arm.

Your gentle touch, your tender kiss,
These are the things I miss.

A whisper of love into my ear,
Your words are what I long to hear.

The closeness, the companionship, the sharing,
All of it I miss – being without you is so wearing.

The philosophers say life is short, but in my mind,
Life without you is endless emptiness most unkind.

We promised to love for all eternity;
Will we be together again some day, you and me?

I can only hope and wish and sigh,
For I have found it does no good to weep and cry.

Your touch, your kiss, your smile I long to see,
In your eyes I could see the depth of your love for me.

My heart breaks a little more each day;
Life is so empty since you’ve gone away
