SEASONS OF LIFE

All the world's a stage
and some get better parts
It all depends on us
as to where the acting starts.

As children we can follow
The grownups that we see
Each day we start to grow
Is this the child we're meant to be?

As young adults we take a lover
Always trying to impress
Wanting them to see no other
Of this I must profess.

Soldiers now and marching onward
We're strong and yet again weak
Is this life a double-edged sword
Leaving us no words to speak?

Middle aged and wiser now
How did we come this far
Conscious acts we must avow
Our image we'll not mar.

Old and feeble is what they say
We don't admit to feeling bad
We still take risks along the way
And some days wish we had.

Once again we're as a child
Naive and innocent
Across our face we wear a smile
Was this a life well spent?
