EMILY
Emily is a fine girl to know
She's getting older and
it's starting to show
She is a trooper and
has had some tests
that will already confirm
what's been the guess
In spite of everything
she wants to please
every precious moment
to which we cling
More treats, more pets
whatever she demands
for it's us who hold
her life in our hands
Why can't she go
peacefully in her sleep
What decision is mine
her doggie life to keep
While I watch her sleep
I wonder does she know
Her life nearing the end
and that she'll have to go
She's done her job here
Faithfully she's served
It hurts to say goodbye
This love well deserved
for Emily... a fine girl to know.
