Where does life take us
What determines our course
Are we predestined creatures
Led on by some force?

In and out of our lives
Decisions we make
Just like the seasons
Roads that we take.

For some youth ends suddenly
For others old age
Some live in peacetime
Others in battle engage.

Some live with memories
Some cannot go on
Life will have meaning
Once the demons are gone.

How many “if onlys”
Do you often think
Life would be different
Could change in a wink.

We value our loved ones
Our freedoms so true
We can only surmise
What you must have gone through.

A poet’s words penned from the heart
Sent this day with gratefulness
