Help me through another day
I don’t know why I feel this way
Sun is shining; flowers in bloom
Why is it that I don’t leave my room?
My thoughts are not a rest
At night they are unwelcome guests
Silence them; send me peace
Sunk in this maelstrom, I need a release.
I’ve tried to do my best
Constantly I’m put to the test
Anger arises; darkens moods
I really don’t want to sit and brood.
I’ve withstood the trials of war
It has taken from my very core
Serenity return; abate my fears
With you I’ve made it through the years.
