Roberto J. Prinselaar
Roberto “Boats” Prinselaar entered the U.S. Navy in February 1948, put in two hitches, and then was honorably discharged in 1957. He enlisted into the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967 as a Boatswains Mate first class and made Chief Petty Officer the following year. After five years as a CPO, he was given a direct Presidential commission as a Lieutenant junior grade (LTjg) skipping the rank of Ensign. He retired from the Coast Guard in 1989 as a Lieutenant Commander.
Roberto served on a number of ships all over the world, was in Korea 1952-53, did some service in the China and South East Asia areas, and says, “I was very happy to come home from there.”
