THREE WOODEN CROSSES
Three wooden crosses, carved by a masters’ hand,
Symbols of hope and love, there by the road they stand.
I pass them every morning, a glance while passing by;
Not really ever knowing why tears fill saddened eyes.
Today, I stopped to visit, perhaps to say a prayer,
A lost and broken spirit just might find solace there.
My feet, though slow and shaky, bore me ever near,
Somewhere a voice spoke softly, ‘You will find comfort here.’
I gazed upon three crosses and lightly traced the lines,
Searching for those answers, to help a troubled mind.
A gentle breeze stirred echoes of years so long ago,
When children danced on moonbeams and made angels in the snow.
How fast the time will travel, too soon adults we’ll be,
Faced with trials and failures, we question our own beliefs.
Standing in the shadows of three crosses made of wood,
I asked my God for courage, to live the way I could.
I felt His arms surround me. My heartfelt free at last,
“Look now upon tomorrow. Let go of your painful past.
When staring into darkness, through Me, you’re never lost,
My child, I paid the price upon that wooden cross.”
Three wooden crosses – beside the road they stand,
Blessing all who reach for the Creator’s loving hands.
A heart can only heal when love’s allowed to mend,
A soul can now rejoice when touched by Sacred Winds.

Author’s Note: While driving Kayla (grand-daughter) to school twice a week, we pass a small Church. On the front lawn are these 3 beautiful crosses. One day, Kayla asked me about them and I told her the story of Jesus. Now, each day, she looks for the crosses and recites what we shared.
Blessings to all,
