ETERNAL FLAME

The days of youth have slipped away,
As a heart is failing too.
What I would give to turn back time,
For just one day with you.

We’d walk along the seashore,
Chase rainbows in the sun,
Holding onto each other,
Two hearts that beat as one.

A love to last forever
Was yours and mine to keep.
Days of fun and laughter,
And nights not meant for sleep.

One day the earth stopped turning,
My love had passed away.
Although this heart kept beating,
I died, too, on that day.

What you left behind is
An eternal, burning flame.
Soon we’ll be together,
Ne’er to part again.
