DEAR DAD
I'm writing you from Heaven, a special gift tonight,
For, I stood there beside you when tears filled saddened eyes.
It's only been a year since Jesus called me home;
A year up here in Heaven is like none we've ever known.
The weather's always perfect, I wish on every star,
And Dad you won't believe the sound of my guitar!
I'm still writing music, the best I'll have to say,
With a mind that's clear and focused, I finally found the way.
'Though you can't really see me, I know you feel me near,
And, Dad, you must believe God catches every tear.
When you miss me most, my arms will hold you tight;
I'm always there beside you and kneel to pray at night.
How you strain to hear me, one day you'll strain no more,
I'll be there with Jesus to open Heaven's door.
'Till then, hold onto faith and know your son's just fine,
And, Dad, it wasn't easy to leave family behind.
Angels still have feelings, I know your every pain,
I've matched you tear for tear, for oceans start with rain.
Those rare and precious moments, when a smile came forth from you,
Made Heaven seem much brighter. for I share laughter, too.
Dad, I'll have to go now, it's time to talk with God,
It's such an awesome feeling to walk where Jesus trod.
Know my love's eternal and together again we'll fly,
Where Angels live forever, and there are no sad goodbyes.
Hug each of my brothers and my sister twice for me;
Let Hunter know Dad's watching and I'll always love Tiffany.
Dad, your love surrounds me, for, in Heaven, love is so real,
Until your journey's over, yes, that's your Angels' wings you feel.
