MOTHERS ARE GOD’S ANGELS

All Moms are Angels, full of God’s love,
Sent down from Heaven on the wings of a dove.
For nine long months we work diligently and pray,
Awaiting the arrival of our children’s birthdays.

Our hearts are won when we hear that first cry,
Ten fingers and toes and the most beautiful eyes.
Endless nights spent just walking the floor,
Chasing the clock when we’ll hold them no more.

Crawling then walking and learning to talk,
Watercolor drawings and walls lined with chalk.
From grade school to college, time races too fast,
Soon we’re left holding just memories of the past.

We give them our love, our faith, and our hearts,
From the nest they have flown, their own lives to start.
Taking each lesson we gave them since birth,
Chasing their dreams to the ends of the earth.

A Mother’s heart is fragile, yet stronger than steel;
Each heartache and pain of her child she will feel.
With shoulders that carry more than her share,
Her arms ever open with her soft, gentle care.

A Mom’s soul is purer than the new fallen snow,
Holding on tight, yet learning to let go.
She’s learned how to smile through all of her fears,
A most beautiful gift of sweet Angel tears.

Soon God will need his Angel back home,
One last look down on the life she has known.
She sees her reflection in the eyes of her child,
God opens her wings, and she leaves with a smile.
