Australia/America Friendship Pin America’s history is full of great tests,
In good times and bad, we give Her our best.
Founded on the belief that all should be free,
We rise to the challenge for others in need.

Our Soldiers have fought in numerous wars,
The brave and the proud have been there before.
America’s Allies are steadfast and true,
For our Australian friends, this is for you.

Your history, like ours, bears witness to pain;
Great warriors have died for freedom’s good name.
Our Soldiers have served together with pride,
Friendships forged deep with battlefield’s cries.

The Royal Australian Navy has paid a high cost,
With courage and valor, so many lives lost.
Her ships ever ready to answer war’s call,
Defenders of freedom, Her Soldiers stand tall.

America salutes you for your great sacrifice,
Your Country knows well freedom’s high price.
On water and land, in the air you’ll defend,
The call to be free, we thank you, our friends.

Traditions you’ve shared, we’ve learned some from you,
‘Two minutes of silence’ and ‘Taps’, that mournful tune.
‘Dogtags that hang near our Soldier’s brave heart:
Ways of ID when from this life they part.

Your colors run deep in your heart and your soul,
Faith in your Country, your honor we know.
From the doorways of Heaven our Heroes rejoice,
Blessed with the knowledge we share the same voice.

Together we’ll continue to wage our brave fight,
Against all our enemies and shine freedom’s light.
Family and friends, in you we believe,
We stand with you proudly, the honorable Aussies.
