SEVENTEEN HEROES

Seventeen lost in a senseless act
Clearly a known terrorist attack
Men and women if the USS Cole
Lost their lives in an act so cold.

A missile destroyer anchored at dock
A large explosion, that thunderless rock
An October to remember filled with grief
A deed so senseless, was hard to believe

The sailors now gone, as nations cry
They dies with honor and filled with pride
Aw we pay tribute and offer our prayers
Thinking of their loved ones and what they must bear

God bless them all, a sacrifice made
Our memories of them will never fade
It was their duty to serve and protect
This October day we shall never forget
