A MATTER OF HONOR

Lost and faded into forgotten
Heroes upon Heroes perished in war
as decades pass slowly by
never given their just rights
events unrecorded. events unknown
but happened

Thousands upon thousands
gone... never to live past their present
never to father young heroes
to fill their footsteps
never knowing a fathers love

Those who returned home
never to be the same... changed
still they pass one by one
each and everyday
from war related fixings
recognized but un-recognized
blind to their seers eye

Deserving of respect, honor, glory
they have paid the highest price
given themselves for freedom
so others will remain free
remember them
true hero's they still are

Looking into the face of death
every moment of each day
a medal of honor... no
a matter of honor... yes
misplaced, forgotten veterans
no...
For God knows who you are
