FAIR LAND AUSTRALIA
We sailed away one sunny day,
To an island far to the north;
Before us lay the wide ocean grey,
Rolling backwards and forth.
We arrived in time
To our so-called clime
With its jungles wet and full of shine;
That’s when we thought of our home and wine.
The tropical nights are the most beautiful sights,
With the sun beaming down,
On a tropical town
In this land far to the north.
The gentle palms hold many charms
As they gently sway by the sea
That when I long to be in her arms
Under the tall palm trees
In this land far to the north.
