NO WHERE TO HIDE IN ARIZONA
Years ago, about 1981,
I packed my bags and headed to Arizona
Leaving Virginia far behind
I was running away from a war fought in my youth
When I crossed the Mississippi
Started looking for cowboy and Indian
What I found was, when I unpacked my bags,
The war from my youth moved with me
They say the grass is always greener
That may be true for a day or two
But once you settle in
Your life picks up from where you left behind
Miss all the old friends I left behind
Yes, even, those I lost in my youth
I think I have become much different
Maybe wiser but I have had to learn to love me again
Maybe that was what I was meant to find
A life searching freedom for my soul
I did find that the old Medic finally has become whole
He has finally found his way home.
