Viet Nam, a year of my life
Spent on the land, the rivers, and in the air
Good days and bad ones
Not sure I want to go back now that the
Land is calm and people endure peace.
There is little sleep for the old soldier
Who has walked on your beaches,
Swam in your rivers,
Bathed in a monsoon,
Passed through your forests,
And waded through rice paddies
I know I didn't leave anything behind
