Kerry “Doc” Pardue

CAROL

I have been here two months
My tired war torn body, mind and heart
Wants to stop the reality of this dream
I want to wake myself up and find you there
Standing next to me in Tennessee
I long to see you one more time but all I have are
Memories, of your warm smile, beautiful eyes,
And soft laughter, they bring me a moment
Of sanity in this insane place
Filled with death and boys dying too young.
I wonder will I become one of them.
