MIDNIGHT CLEAR
He came upon a midnight clear
That served to ease his natural fear
And the stars above that shone so bright
Frolicked ‘neath the moonlit night
Holding hands with fire-flies
That illuminated the nightly skies
Fairies danced on gleaming stools
Surrounded by jesters and courtly fools
Holding hands, and on tiptoed feet
Invited his eyes to wake from sleep.
With laughter born of loving fun,
He revelled til the morning sun.
The breaking dawn warmed the air
And signalled close of the fabulous fair;
Relegating night into joyous day
Coaxing daytime creatures to their play.
But the wonders of the magic night
Had changed his heart from dark to light.
