THE LAUGHING POLITICIANS
(Tune “The Laughing Policeman”)

We know some politicians
That dress so nice and neat
And if you’re truly luckless
They may come down your street
New Labour and the LibDems
May well soon visit you
And if you listen to them
They’ll tell some gems to you

Ha Ha, etc.

There are these politicians
Who act so coy and sweet
And if you’re truly luckless
They may pull down your street
The LibDems are the ones
Who say they’re heaven sent
But you’ll not think it’s funny
Cos they’ve put up your rent

Ha Ha, etc.

There are more politicians
Who’ll grovel at your feet
When they’ve got your vote from you
Then they’ll soon leave your street
New Labour are the lot
Who say that they’re your mates
And they will be so jolly
As they sell off your estates

Ha Ha, etc.
Ha Ha, etc.

There are some politicians
Who keep getting beat
They used to hold positions
But they’re now in retreat
These are the Tories who
Are in the wilderness
They could be seen by you
But only in Loch Ness

Ha Ha, etc.
Ha Ha, etc.
