DEAD MAN ON THE BEACH

Broken backed man
Lay dying on a beach
Canteen of water there -
But, it's just out of reach

Each does what they can
Some sigh and others preach
The thirst it killed the man
He'd fed a big fat leech

Dead eyes with glassy stare
We found him on that beach
With love we buried him
With love and tender care

An overbearing thought
Some took with them away
One small thing had been taught
Bad dreams don't go away
