If my eyes were sealed today
I have seen the double rainbow
Atop Mesa Verde after the rain.
I’ve seen clouds from the inside.
I’ve seen a sundog, a comet, eclipse,
Watched a baby find his toes and smile.
If my ears were sealed today
I have heard the music of the wind
Whispering through the trees
And crying on the canyon walls.
I’ve heard it howling in the rigging
While the ocean crashed and roared.
If my skin should turn to stone today
I’ve felt a kiss, a sweet touch.
My toes have squished around in mud
And run barefoot through grass wet with dew.
I’ve slept in the sun, played in the rain.
For these miracles Unehlanvhi, uweti Thanks You.
