SISTERS

You are my sister,
As you’ve always been.
I see your eyes in my mirror looking back at me,
And I’ve heard your voice in the wind.

You are my sister,
As you’ve always been.
I’ve carried your smile on my face,
And your blood flows through my veins.

You are my sister,
As you’ve always been.
I have tasted your tears.
You have seen my dreams.

You are my sister,
As you’ve always been.
We’ll dance on a moonbeam together.
Step after step, we now begin.

Author’s Note: My sister refers to herself, my birth-dad and our brother as the “I see dead people” family. I had a “gift of sight” all my life and many times didn’t understand it. I finally found my sister after 50 years and it turns out that it came from our father. She and I will meet for the first time in February!! But that’s another one of those long stories. The above is a poem I sent her…
