AMAZING GRACE
Come all ye citizens of the world, gather 'round
As we pay our respects to those who have died
Whose souls have now risen to higher ground
Far beyond the stretch of Satan's stride
Though the path we walk on this earthen sod
May quiver and shake from his footfalls here
He has no power o'er the Children of God
For they belong to the One to Fear
Oh, hear the wail of the bagpipes filling the air
Trilling the song of those once lost
Who, by God's grace, found solace rare
Learning the true meaning of the cross
Nothing in this world can touch those who believe
That Jesus died on the cross for them
Paying the price for our sins, lest we all should grieve
Suffering through eternity far away from Him
Those who twist the truth into a lie
Killing the innocent to promote their evil way
Will get their perfect reward by and by
For the Lord will judge them all one day
We, who now grieve for those gone before
Must embrace the power of His Amazing Grace
That it can walk their souls through Heaven's door
Crossing the floor to meet God face-to-face
If we should live ten thousand years
Suffering on this tear-filled path we trod
We'll walk knowing we can place all our fears
In the loving arms of Almighty God
Citizens the world over share in our pain
Knowing full well it could happen to them
United in prayer, there is so much to gain
For the sharing draws us closer to Him
There are those who will learn the hard way
That only in Love can true victory be found
By the Grace of God, some will see that day
When their souls set foot on that Higher Ground
No man is an island...each impacting another
Oh, that the sound of the Almighty Piper's call
Could reach the ears of every sister and brother
That His Amazing Grace could touch us All!
