Searching for answers
I tried everything
Down demonic highways
On a thinning string
Caught in a tunnel
With no light at the end
Forever in darkness
And nowhere a friend

I was trapped in a world
Stranded in time
Lost in my senses
Like a verse with no rhyme
With nowhere to turn
For comfort or hope
Lost in my senses
With no way to cope

Visions of doom
Loomed in my head
Thoughts of dying
And feelings of dread
Forever in darkness
And worlds apart
Forever dreaming
Of a brand-new start

I dropped to my knees begging
For a means of escape
To a god I could not see
Through the black veil’s drape
Worlds apart, but knowing
There must be more than this
My heart forever groping
For a way out of the pit

Then in my darkest hour
I heard a quiet voice say
Come to me, my child
And I will take you away
To a world apart from here
Where eternal life and love await
In a world without fear

Take my hand, walk with me
For I am the way
The truth and the life
Forever and a day
Knock and the door will open
Seek and you will find
That the light at the end of the tunnel
Is none other than mine.
