WOE IS ME
Oh, for a family
with trivial woes
like where to dine out
or where to buy clothes
What college to choose
to better themselves
or where to store books
when fresh out of shelves,
How many pictures
to hang on the wall,
What topic of talk
when friends come to call
Oh, for a family
that isn’t like mine
who call from the jail
most of the time
and only come see me
when they need some cash
or, horror of horrors,
a new place to crash,
Who dump all their troubles
right into my lap
play on my sympathy
till I’m caught in their trap.
Oh, for a family
with trivial woes
When will they stop
Nobody knows
