WHAT IS THE TRUTH?

The truth is always changing…
An elusive thing indeed
Minds forever rearranging
The concepts once decreed

The earth is flat! No, it’s round!
The debate goes on and on
Discoveries made today astound
Tomorrow new ones dawn

Endless views through searching eyes
Confuse the scene one draws
The truth becoming naught but lies
Butchered by human claws

Not one can know the whole truth
Being the humans that we are
Imperfect creatures trapped forsooth
Wishing on a falling star

And I, imperfect as all the rest
For sure, do not know all
Hoping today tomorrow’s quest
Will help us walk, not crawl

Put one foot in front of the other
Take a brother by the hand
Walk with compassion for one another
Till one day we all understand

For we are all in this together
Like it, or like it not
Truths change much like the weather
And today, my God, it’s hot!
