WHAT I SEE IN YOU
I see the epitome of passion
Truth, honesty and loyalty
Chivalry still in fashion
The purple heart of royalty
I see dreams worth dreaming
Rainbows of the brightest hue
A diamond on a lake gleaming
A brighter tomorrow in view
I see rivers rippling with hope
Tenacity held till the bitter end
The strength of the tallest oak
A rose surviving a bitter wind
I see the poet’s pensive soul
A heart held aloft on a sleeve
A mate sharing a spirit’s goal
Tears shed because we believe
I see empathy and compassion
A love which knows no bounds
The hot palm given in reaction
To souls seeking higher grounds
