MY BLESSING IN DISGUISE
He’s the light of my life,
My pride and my joy,
My sweet little angel,
My cute baby boy.
He came into my world
With shining hazel eyes,
Hair the shade of pennies…
My blessing in disguise.
Friends had gently warned me
There’d be lots more work to do;
Nursing, cleaning, bathing,
Just to name a few.
But all the worries left me
When I gazed into his eyes
A very special wonder…
My blessing in disguise.
Those tiny little fingers
And his tiny little toes;
A model of perfection
This lucky mother knows.
His name announced as Christian,
The choice was oh so wise,
He’s a little piece of heaven…
My blessing in disguise.
His arms around my tired neck,
Like a tiny little wreath,
He’s tugging on my shoulder
With his tiny little teeth.
The cooking, washing, cleaning
Can’t compare to the size
Of my little piece of heaven…
My blessing in disguise.
