SILENCER
Imagine for a moment
that no one says a word
when leaders we elect
declare a war absurd.
Imagine we the people,
refusing to speak out,
opinions held within
as bullets kill without.
Imagine for a moment
a war that never ends,
an escalating one
we never say offends.
But, imagine if it does:
what difference would it make
if everyone said nothing…
a treasonous mistake.
