WINTER FANTASY
Late in winter
With the feel of
An early snow,
The moon's a shimmer
Glowing in white.
Bitter cold all around us
But we're wrapped in a warmth;
Bundled tight
Zippered up; Buckled down.
Late in winter
Packed in snow
Angels wander across our sky
Graceful flakes that never die
Halos come from this moon we know
Smiling down upon our souls.
Late in winter
Frozen still
Dreams we dreamt upon our hill
Under a lamp on city streets
Two kids grew up
Late in winter
Late for us
Early for the morning sun.
