A SORRY CASUALTY

I am a casualty of this never ending war.
Looking back there are many things that I’m sorry for.

I should have ducked the punches and
looked before I jumped.

I should have had thicker skin
when my own head I bumped.

So I must take better care of myself from now on.

I’m almost reconciled;
one day the war might be gone.
