EACH TO HIS OR HER OWN TREE

I was looking down the freeway from the windscreen in the van,
I saw trees beside the freeway and remembered Vietnam.
If only we could have brought back every soldier alive,
But no,
Trees grow near the freeway along Remembrance Drive.
