DREAMING OF PEACE

Each day comes and each day goes and all I hear are the insults.
Grenades are thrown at shadows as tears explode in their laughter.
Tomorrow will come and I will arise again in this place.

Through a soldier's eyes I look at things in a different way.
I see troubled streets littered with innocent victim's blood.
I feel fear and hide my emotions that leave stretch marks on my face.

When the last post says goodnight it is time to call it a day.
I close my eyes and give birth to dreams, and like a child I run,
With my torch burning new pavements of peace for all the human race.
