CHRISTMAS IN A WAR ZONE

It's just one day now to Christmas and the heartaches have begun.
Spending Christmas in a war zone is not my idea of fun.
I've been busy keeping peace round here but no one cares for me,
So I'm hoping there maybe an end to this hostility.
I'm thinking of the old folks and of the little ones as well.
I'm sitting here in a dug out that I call a living hell.
It's hot as hell this Christmas and Santa is in a disguise.
All the reindeers have gone AWOL and sure that is no surprise.
If I could be a bird I would fly far away from this place,
but from this hole I cannot fly, I just stare out into space.
Santa all I want for Christmas is some peace so I could be
part of the tradition that makes up the human family.
