FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Devious energy of suggestion
A similar yet small percent
Pretend to communicate Right Questions
Without ever being present.
While brothers go down in flames
Following Grandfathers path
Counters of University names
Blurt utterance of “Peace” in wrath.
A bleak code of confrontation so small
Identifying a section of US
Use condemnation dishonoring us all
That is your pious success
Fathers trod desert areas
And commit to future operation
While some frolic in fouled Freedom
Earned by past Human Liberation.
Some announce infantile fuss
Pretending to be robbed of Honor
Volunteer youth risking all for US
While some judge safely behind their armor.
Of course Peace is the desired way
Peace is not known only to you few
Should we just pray evil away?
What are your senses telling you?

Author’s Note: For my Brother who served in the Gulf War; For my Grandfather and Great Grandfathers who served in the World Wars, I exercise my Freedom of Speech to say “Thank you”

To those who volunteered to serve in the War against Iraq… you are the best of US. To the protestors of this war, please be respectful of your protectors.
