THE CALL

Verse #1:

There's a land beyond the ocean.
There's a mountain in the sky.
Adventure's calling "Ever onward!"
There are wings I want to try.

Thunder rolls and lightning flashes
As the cold wind howls its song.
The elk and coyotes and the eagles
Beckon me where I belong.

Chorus:

We're the hopes and dreams of ages
Of the ones who've gone before.
Will we please the God who made us
And go on forevermore?

God gave freedom to His children.
There is no need to despair.
Feel the rhythm of creation.
There is music in the air.

Feel the rhythm of creation.
There is music in the air.

Verse #2:

Mind and heart are fused together
As these words flow from my hand.
Driven by a spirit inside,
I am trying to understand.

So, I write what I am feeling,
Still not knowing what I'll say.
Thus, the rhyming turns to singing
With the music that I play.

Verse #3:

"Life's a stage and we are players",
As was said so long ago.
Men are strengthened by their struggle
Through their mortal to and fro.

Bad things happen and we wonder
Why would God let such things be?
We are children ever growing
As we learn to be like He.
