MY SONG
Verse # 1:
I'll soon be out of the Army
And I'll be flying back to the "World".
"So long!" to South Korea.
I'm going to find an American girl,
And I'm going to love her
Every night and all day too,
And then this lonely soldier
Ain't never going to be blue.
Verse # 2:
I've traveled this wide world over
Working for my Uncle Sam,
From Kaiserslautern, Germany,
To Phu Bai, Viet Nam.
Now I'm in Korea
In a mountain ville called Weon Ju.
Except for dreaming of going home,
There ain't much else to do.
Verse # 3:
I've dined with girls in Australia
And I've danced with girls in Israel.
I've seen pretty maidens in Japan,
And this thing, I know well:
I'm an American
And there's only one girl for me.
That's a red, white, and blue-blooded girl
Of American nationality.
Verse # 4:
Now, as I sit here writing this song,
I'm all alone late at night.
I'm dreaming of the lips I'll kiss
And the love I'll hold tight.
In just a few months,
This kid will head on home.
When I find that girl of mine,
You ain't never going to see me roam!
