AND SO I DREAM OF YOU

Verse #1:

Korea's nights
Are cold and lonely
When you are
In the U.S. Army,
And so I dream of you.

Verse #2:

I am a man
Who's always been free.
Now I am
In the U.S. Army
And so I dream of you.

Verse #3:

The miles that
Separate us are long.
That's why I'm
Singing such a sad song,
And so I dream of you.

Bridge:

In these barren hills
Beaten by the wind and sun,
I think about you, Baby,
And my blood begins to run.
There's pretty maidens everywhere,
But it's just not the same.
Devotion can't be sold
And true love's not a game.

Verse #4:

If I could hold you,
I'd be happy.
But 'til then,
I must serve my Country,
And so I dream of you.

Author’s Note: I wrote this song in 1973 while stationed at Weon Ju, Republic of Korea, when I was serving in the 307th Signal Battalion. It was there that I learned to accompany myself on a guitar.
