THOSE SIXTIES
(A Response)

We all look in the mental rear-view mirror and think: "It has to mean something" - if so the meaning stays just out of our grasp.  We remember victories as poignant as a love affair – long enduring defeats hanging around like a bad smell; all the agonies and ecstasies of our youth and the wearing down of our middle age as well as the loss of physical ability in old age – all signifying nothing.
