somehow i flew
right past the two
and almost blew
out a shoe

wwoz on the sound track
the best of late night from nola
a way down the track
and fans blowing hot and warm rum and coca cola

and shirts flapping
in the warm wind
sweat lying sticky
on my chest

it’s not hurricane season yet
and the tornados
have moved north
without the butterflies

the cars wend their way
back home at last
and critical mass
is out there being a pain in the ass

all those a$$holes
without their helmets what a fool
shows just how dumb can get
is there some way to keep them out of the gene pool

all those old timers
so out of breath
this heat will surely
be their death

i have to say
this might be true
there is trouble
in ZONE 2
