WAITING FOR THE REVOLUTION

we have not yet escaped our cage
our despair has not yet turned into rage
I awoke this morning in some confusion
why was I waiting for the revolution

the line appeared in my journal
and I was challenged to jump into the inferno
idle, pen in hand, could we take any more
I’m sick of being roadkill in the endless class war

my gadgets swim in images
of bloody heads and youthful rage
and disgusted with our leaders smug image
as if only they know the way to go

they should be hung by their words
these useless stinking turds
they should be punished for their inflicted misery
and become mere sad footnotes in history

we need to direct our wrath
at these sick and dangerous psychopaths
its time to get off our ass
and quit

waiting for the revolution
