early morning music
from the

and my face itches for a shave
as I wait for the kettle to heat
so I can have my first coffee
to which I’ve become a slave

have surfed the new sites
and got caught up on the latest fights
as the stock market pulls up its knickers
snicker, snickers

they mooned us yesterday
and scared all the pensioner away
while suits in suits by Saville Row
intoned warnings but suggested no solution for the day

they talk of how we can no longer afford
our supposedly luxurious safety net
while giving the keys to the vault
to the rich and corporate by default
