I’M IN A RAT-FACED MOOD TODAY

and they have discovered an earth like planet
only, he said ironically,
twenty light years away.

The jazz reverberates in my headphone
and my stomach growls
a burp of self produced methane
looking for a home.

Couldn’t sleep and had a night sweat
just how awkward can it get?
Nothing to do and nothing to say
that’s all there is today.

No, Johnny-Ward
can’t come out to play
because
I’m in a rat faced mood today.
