A TRIP TO THE LIBRARY AND A PIZZA RUN

had to cancel a book on hold
had been waiting time untold
when the call finally came
my birthday book was already in my brain.

received it from my Jasna pal
and passed to my friend Ken
so he could read it as well
because the when of the library was hard to tell.

then lazy me was beside the flying wedge
and so a two piece of pizza was my pledge and people watching
two large loads passed, one at least four hundred pounds
the other just about there and gaining.

like two eighteen wheelers passing on a narrow road
I was afraid one of them would lose her load
and they did their passing dangle
I found my lens didn’t have enough wide angle.

but they successfully completed their run
even though both their butts were wide enough to block out the sun
watching people is just too much fun
on a trip to the library and a pizza run.
