ARROWS OF STEEL AND GLASS
What has become of the weapons of war?
What changes have now come to pass?
From rocks sticks and bones to oh so much more,
our arrows are now steel and glass.
The silicon sits in the tiniest bits,
Interconnected in ways like our brain.
A spark flying through guides the flight path so true,
putting the enemy pilot in pain.
In another few years more technology nears,
that takes the man out of harm's way.
The whole flight is guided, the outcome decided
with non-fictional video game play.
It remains to be seen if our new war machines,
can keep more than our pilots from danger.
Can a robotic gun or more technological fun
replace a Marine or a Special Force Ranger?
If all of the effort in the science of war
was directed at diffusing the reasons,
could the hatred be quenched, could we settle the score?
Could we permanently put war out of season?
