VICTORY – WHY A BATTLE?
There is a problem
With this "great" nation
Loss of statesmanship
Predicted by the Founders
Two Political Parties
The Third President spoke
Political Parties
Encourage conflict
Discourage statesmanship
Two Political Parties
The nation began
'cause of a lack
Perceived or real
Representation
Two Political Parties
The nation split
Two political parties
The do's and don'ts
Brother against brother
Two Political Parties
Today they face
Threat from outside
Statesmanship gone
Fighting over everything
Two Political Parties
A bill pass
"to protect the people"
"A Great Victory"
For one side
Two Political Parties
Other parties and independents
Held out
Money talks
Caring walks
Two Political Parties
Choose
The lesser
"Two Evils"
Or don't bother
Two Political Parties

Author’s Note: I know I that some of these forums are not the place to discuss politics but, I just watched a news report about the impending passing of the Patriot Act. In this report the reporter and the pundits from both the Republican and the Democratic parties called the passing of this bill "a great victory for the President". If this law is supposed to be "for the protection" of the people, is it not a victory for the people? And why is it a victory anyway? Victory implies conflict; why is there battle?
