Del “Abe” Jones
For the past thirty years or so
Your voice has been around…
We never wondered who it was
With its great and unique sound
Whether rock and roll or country
You never seemed to care
For no matter, what the song
We could feel your heart in there.
You were called, “The greatest!”
By the one we call, “The King.”
Now, we are all the losers
Because of songs, you’ll never sing.
But, you left behind a legacy
Of, memories and song…
A tribute to your time on earth
Though, you weren’t here very long.
So, Roy, as you look down
From your new home up above
Please know, we’ll miss you dearly
And in sorrow, send our love.
