WHEN WE CROSS OVER
When we cross over we’ll know the real truth, amen!
Or we won’t know a thing; so it won’t happen again
The thing that is true is that none of us know,
But we hope for resurrection when off we all go.
You can believe what you like; pray to a God,
Be it due to fear of death that ends in the sod,
Or because there must be a place better than here,
Where we don’t have an erratic planet to steer.
Whatever the truth history gives us a clue,
That we all die in some way whatever we do
Nations have risen empires fallen to dust,
We have learned from it there is no one to trust.
We must believe in ourselves; trust the spirits within,
That when all die we have a place to begin.
