WHAT THE POET WRITES

Is there one here who would reject,
to the purpose of a written verse,
or by its meaning then object,
that they would then the poet curse?
If what we are is never said,
if our views are never heard,
then we will lay forgotten, dead,
upon an Earth still not disturbed.
Some are right and some are wrong,
but most are somewhere in between,
seeking where they might belong,
combining hues to form a scene
that enchants a happy loving view,
that all can share their whole lives through.
